District Governor: Lion Lori Bennett (Lion Steve Bennett) Paris Lions Club
As a mother, food-service or child care provider, scout or youth group leader, I have always served others. As my life changed, opening an opportunity to serve in a new way. I joined the Paris Lions Club family in 2006 to serve others. I became a Lion leader to serve my fellow Lions. I have attended most district and state conventions and LCICon in Toronto. Nothing compares with the experience of being surrounded by thousands of Lions from around the world. I am proud to say my parents, sisters, husband and daughter are Lions. Steve and I share three children and eleven grandchildren who are the light of our lives, and the inspiration to try to make a difference.
District Governor Elect: Lion Darren VanDuyn, Westville Lions Club
I have been a member of the Westville Lions Club since 2009. I have served the club as President, on the Board of Directors, co-chair of the Labor Day parade committee, Candy Day chair and Zone chair. I served as the guiding lion for the new Ridge Farm club and on the State Convention elections committee. I have attended district conventions, district forums, state conventions, state forums and the USA/Canada forum. I have received awards for the Lion of the Year and 3 Presidential awards and medals. I have been involved in the community as a Westville Village Trustee, volunteer for the Westville Recreational Baseball & Softball League and President of the Tri-conference Baseball League, President of the Danville Bowling Association and part of the Santas Anonymous Program. I am single and live with my cat, Chief.
First Vice District Governor Elect: Lion Dave Johnson, Mt Zion Lions Club
I am retired, 37 years, from Norfolk Southern Railroad. I have been an active participant in bowling since I was a child. In my spare time I enjoy reading, family time and playing with our yorkie-poo, Abby. I joined the Lions club in 2009 to make a difference in the community. I have been treasurer of the Mt. Zion Lions Club since 2011, the Zone chair from 2015 to the present time and will be President of my club this year. I feel privileged to be a part of activities such as children’s eye screening, scholarship programs and a general socialization with different communities.
