District 6 West Lions

We need your Help! These two positions are currently open. To have a successful year we need to find individuals that are passionate about Lions to fill these positions.

Centennial Coordinator

As you all know the Lions' Centennial is next year 2017. As 1st VDG John Ballagh and I visited clubs last year we talked about several aspects of the Centennial Celebration.

Our District Centennial Coordinator unfortunately moved out of state and we need to seek a new individual willing to take this position on until June 30, 2018.

The position will require training that will assist you with the knowledge needed and helpful hints on how to make the year a success.

The position will require traveling to club meetings as best you can, speak about the many aspects of the Centennial Celebration and award those clubs who have earned a banner patch for participation in the program for this past Lions' year, 2015-2016.

Anyone club member, of any club, that is interested is urged to contact me ASAP.

2nd Vice District Governor

6 West is also in need of a 2nd Vice District Governor (VDG) for the 2016-2017 Lions' year. This individual will become 1st VDG for the 2017-2018 Lions' year and will become the 6 West District Governor in 2018 in Las Vegas, NV at the 2018 International Convention.

To qualify for the 2nd VDG position shall:

(1) Be an active member in good standing of a chartered lions club in good standing in his/her single or sub-district.

(2) Secure the endorsement of his/her club or a majority of the clubs in his/her single or sub-district.

(3) Have served or will have served at the time he/she takes office as second vice district governor:

a. As president of a Lions Club for a full term or major portion thereof, and a member of the board of directors of a lions club for no less than two (2) additional years; and

b. As zone chairperson or region chairperson or cabinet secretary and/or treasurer for a full term or major portion thereof.

                  c. With none of the above being accomplished concurrently.

I know many of us are busy and don't feel we have the time to commit to this (these) positions. Many individuals still works full time, have a family and some even take care of a parent, it can be done.

We need new people with new ideas to continue our District Leadership.

Anyone who is interested please contact me as ASAP so we can begin your training to help you be a successful District Leader.

I thank each and every one of you for what you do for your club and communities.
