As Indiana Lions for the ISBVI, we recognize that while many organizations have specialized knowledge and expertise vital to the ongoing growth and development of blind and visually impaired youth, we specifically support the connection between the youth of Indiana and organizations of the blind (sometimes called “consumer groups”).

The majority of the youth in this state live in circumstances where they have few opportunities to meet successful blind or visually impaired adults. We believe that positive associations with, and mentorship by successful blind and visually impaired adults are essential to the positive development of the youth of our state.
