19D1 Zone Chair: Sharon Cain May, 20231 ZC Sharon Cain sharoseh43@gmail.com 250-540-8270 I can hardly believe that this fiscal year is almost over. May and June are the months to tie up all loose ends. Here are a few to take care of: 1. All elections are completed and reported. 2. All reports to MD19 and LCI have been filed 3. NEW CLUB OFFICER TRAINING — 2023–2024 club officers training will be held on three different dates: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday June 10, 2023, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday July 27, 2023, and 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday August 26, 2023. All training sessions are via ZOOM. All club officers, 1st timers to experts are encouraged to attend. Reserve one (or more) of those dates now. 4. Plan new Officer Installation and awards meetings. Don’t forget our final Zone meeting and BBQ is on June 4 at 11 AM. I am hoping to see all current and new Presidents/ Secretaries and spouses attending. All other club members are always welcome to attend Zone meetings. Be sure to phone me with numbers attending from each club – it is also our zone award meeting. I am really proud of our zone. As of this month we have increased our membership by 24. Quote from Sharon Sykes: “ As older (length of membership) Lions, we all need to remember to find a spot for our new volunteers; to make them feel welcomed and to feel needed. New members may come in with new ideas, newer ways to do what we have always done, and to learn how we are doing our current projects. As current leaders, we need to stop and listen to our new members for they will be our future club leaders.” Note: Celebration of Life for PZC Angus Benedict will be on June 3rd - 3pm Schoening Funeral Home 513 Seymour St, Kamloops BCZC Sharon Cain 19D1 Zone Chair: Sharon Cain May, 20232 So - - -What have our clubs been up to: Armstrong The Armstrong Lions held a BBQ in Askews Parking lot on Sat May 13th Enderby Lion Neil McRobbie was elected Enderby and District Lions Club Secretary for the 2023-24 year.
