ZC Sharon Cain sharoseh43@gmail.com 250-540-8270 We are almost through the second month of the year. We have survived Groundhog day – not sure if spring will be early or late. We survived the Superbowl – hope your team was a winner. We survived Valentine’s Day – a day to show your loved ones that they are appreciated. And now we look forward to March and spring. I hope to see all of our clubs in D1 at Spring Conference on April 28 and 29 at the Prestige Inn in Vernon, BC. The program is almost complete and you will be receiving it soon. Registration forms have been sent out. There are great opportunities for everyone at Conference. This year’s theme is Family Reunion and you will meet up with old and new Lions family members. This will be the last Conference for District D as we know it – next year we will be District I and much larger in area and membership. Conference is offering training for Secretaries, Club Administrators and Treasurers, for Presidents, Vice Presidents and Directors and many other panels to learn new things. Contests and awards are a great way to showcase your club. Be sure to enter as many categories as you can. They are: 1) a 5 minute speech 2) your business card 3) club brochure 4) club website 5) club scrapbook 6) club bulletin or newsletter. The speech will be judged in person at the conference. Send all other entries to Wanda Eddy at lionwandac@gmail.com or mail to Wanda Eddy, at 1105 7th St, Kamloops, BC V2B 2X1. Please send 3 or 4 pictures of events in your club (current events or events of the past) to PDG Debbie Bostock. They will be enclosed in recycled CD cases and on display as centerpieces for the tables at Conference. The Fun Night on Friday, April 28 should be a lot of fun and will include live entertainment.
