ZC Sharon Cain sharoseh43@gmail.com 250-540-8270 Spring is getting closer and closer and I am excited to see what the clubs in Zone 1 have planned for service and fundraising, what causes they are supporting and how the nominations for elections are going. March is the month for nominations and April is the month for elections. All of the secretaries have been given the letter from Peter and MD19 re: the Club Officer reporting process. April 15 or directly after the club completes its election is the new date established by LCI. After reporting to LCI, you may wish to consider sending the form to MD19 office and your District Governor and Zone Chair at the same time. Please note that it is a new registration process. We held a very enjoyable Zone meeting at Enderby on March 19. I am please to say that as of that date, our zone has grown by 25 members since our January zone meeting. Congratulations to all new members – enjoy your journey in Lions. Minutes of the meeting have been circulated. Our Travelling Lion is making rounds this year. Funds this year are going to support supplies for our Vision Screening – paper, ink, a backup in case of needing a new battery. I believe that everyone is enjoying the visitations to other clubs – meeting new people, learning new ideas and sharing with fellow lions. March 25 was the training for North Okanagan Vision Screening volunteers. We begin screening in Salmon Arm schools on Monday, April 3 and should complete there, Sorrento, Celista, Tappen, Canoe, Enderby and Armstrong by April 27. I am so pleased with the number of volunteers who have completed the Criminal Record Check for this zone project. Thank you. Looking forward to Spring Conference on April 28-29, 2023. DG Debbie Allan has a great line up of speakers, leaders to train us and fun for everyone at our “Family Reunion” Conference.
