I have been away for most of this month, and I am just catching up. News from all around D8, “Inspire through Service ” Kamloop s Aberdeen Lions : Have been busy with the Welch Allan Vision Screener. They have screened 1700 students this year, and in May they are going to do Merritt and Princeton Schools as well. They made a $3000.00 donation to the RIH Foundation recently. They are back doing their grocery lottery sponsored by SaveOn Foods. Tickets are $20 per book, or 3 for $5.00. All proceeds are going to the Chris Rose Center for Autism. Please help support them and buy tickets, or get more info by calling 250-374-8442. The Aberdeen Lions , Nor th Kamloop s Lions , Brock Central Lions , and the Kamloop s Paddlewheeler s have all joined forces to work together at a booth for the Spring Home Show in Kamloops, at the Sandman Center on April 15-16. They are hoping to promote the Lions and let the surrounding communities know what Lions are, and what we do, in hopes of generating some new memberships. Way to go Kamloops Lions. What ’s your club doing ? Does your club use Facebook or Instagram? It is a great way to share what your club is doing. Don’t Forget to do your MMR’s before the 20th. April 28 & 29 will be DG Debbie Allan’s District D conference. It will be held at the Prestige hotel in Vernon. This will be the last District D conference, as we will soon be District I under the new redistricting that will happen next July 1. Mark your calendar, and plan to attend. A very rewarding experience Have you ever given thought to being one? It’s an easy job. You get to visit the clubs in your Zone twice. They usually provide a meal or snacks, sometimes even a gift. The paperwork is minimal, and it really doesn’t take alot of your time. We really need Zone Chairs for the upcoming new year, 2023-2024. If interested or would like more info, please let me know.
