Many Hands Light Work District Governors thoughts: Wow!! Where has the year gone! First I would like to thank all the Lions that made the final District D Spring Conference such a huge success! It was great to see so many Lions and guests out to share in fellowship, learning, laughter and tears. A special thank you to PDG Norma and PDG Debbie for their hard work making sure this was a conference we would all remember. I also want to give a huge thank you to PDG Wanda for all her hard work on the program and getting valuable learning out to our Lions family. The ladies in the Raffle/Silent auction room led by Lion Connie raised a huge amount of money and again, I thank them for their tireless hours in making this a success. Registration was handled by Lion Ken and he did a wonderful job. Our International guest, PID Justin Faber, kept us all in laughter and shared some valuable information with all of us, either one on one or in groups. He fit right in with our District D Lions and I saw that his license plates were completely covered with signatures. Again, thank you everyone for making this conference such a great success! I look forward to attending the very first District I Spring Conference next year. New Officers: I am sure that most of the clubs have had their elections and submitted their new executive, but for those of you who have not quite completed this task, please do so as soon as possible. This information is needed by LCI and the MD office so that they can get ready for the upcoming Lions Year! There have been some questions on what can be paid for out of a Lions Clubs Administrative account and what can be paid for out of an Activities account. As Lions we need to remember that 100% of what we take in from the community, goes back into the community. We cannot pay dues from this account. There are many ways of building up our Administrative account that we can then use to offset the costs of dues. Do you have an active Tail twister who collects from your club meetings for things such as raffles, fines, joke telling, phones ringing? This money goes into your administrative account as it does not come from the community, and therefore can be used to help pay for dues. If you have any questions on this, please don’t hesitate to contact me. D.H. When you register, please enter the club position you will be doing during the 2023-2024 Lion’s year. If you will not be holding a club officer position, just designate “volunteer”. EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO LEARN WITH US. Your upcoming District Governors are working with their merge committees to designate new zone identifications, so if you do not know your new zone number, just enter your new District: 19-L, 19-I, 19-O, 19-N, or 19-S. Please make sure you identify which primary club you are a member club in…do NOT list “associate” clubs. Please make sure your email is correct as you will be receiving materials prior to and after the training. This class is based on teamwork so the initial materials you will receive are all the Lions Clubs International recently updated club officer eBooks. The success of your club is dependent upon the club officers and membership working together to ensure success of your club…it’s neverabout just one member. The training will include the following sections: Mission & Team Today, Service Chair, President/Vice Presidents, Lions Club International Foundation and grants available, Club Secretary, Club Treasurer (both USA & Canada), Club Board of Directors, Creative Member Recognition, Membership Chair, Public Relations and Communication, Leadership and Teamwork, and Available Resources. The expectation is that you will attend the full session to get credit for the MD19 Training and to be eligible for the President, Secretary, Treasurer or Membership MD19 Excellence Awards. 4 Please forward this information to your club presidents, vice presidents, secretaries, and membership chairs as well as all of your regular club members. Additional files provided: 1. Flyer (in .pdf format) with active links to register for the class. This flyer can be mailed directly to club members. 2. Flyer without links to be posted on Facebook. The hyperlink in the flyer will not work on Facebook. Therefore, a WORD document with registration links for all 3 sessions (Jun/Jul/Aug) is included. Post the registration hyperlink within the text portion of your Facebook posting. This link will work to regis￾ter for the session. All attendees MUST register. If you decide to register one person and then have several members attend with you, please email the pre-session information (received a few days prior to the class) to each person attending within your group. Then please email Sharon Sikes with the name and club officer position for each person attending in your group. ZOOM LINKS FOR 2023 CLUB OFFICER TRAINING SESSIONS 1.
