District D Cabinet Meeting #1 Saturday August 19, 2023 As Trustee for the Northwest Lions Foundation, I have reached out to DG Mike Livingstone, PDG Debbie Allan, and Judi Kembel in Canada to connect with Bill Lundin, Rick Giles and myself for hearing aid opportunities. Rick is currently out of the country, and we will all connect again in late August, early September. Rick believes we should be able to offer in Canada, the same hearing aids and great price that we get here in the United States. He just needs to work with you to put this together and see how it runs. I hope to find success soon. The NLF has been meeting by zoom, and we will come together in person, in the Sea-Tac area in September to discuss many things with changes that have been happening. If any of you are in the area that day, you are welcome to come join in and listen to what we are doing. I will update you with more detail after our next meeting. This is my last year as Trustee for NLF, ending a two term, 6 year service. (3 years each term) If you have interest in becoming the next trustee, please let me know, as this is a position that NLF is part of and then it goes to vote at Mike’s spring conference in 2024. I recently spoke at the Ephrata Lions Club, and delivered coffee cans full of used hearing aids and batteries to Rick Giles in Vancouver WA. I would love to speak with each of your clubs and share what is happening with NLF. I wish to thank you all for collection of White Cane Donations. I just want to share & shout out about Forks Washington. They raised and sent in $13,500 for White Canes. Wow! Please check out our website, www.nlfoundation.org should you have any questions. Our new website should be rolled out soon. Or call me, I’ll be glad to come visit. Respectively submitted, PDG / NLF Trustee Shelley Costello
