NWLERC District 19D Annual Report 2023 District 19D has two recycling satellites, one in Wenatchee and one in Moses Lake. Both satellites receive used eyeglasses from the Lions Clubs in Zones D2 and D5. These eyeglasses are sorted into several categories and then shipped to NWLERC in Lacey, WA. I encourage the Lions to financially support NWLERC as well as collect used eyeglasses to be distributed to people in developing countries. The recycling center has been operating since 2004 and is currently raising funds for a new lensometer to read the prescriptions in all of the eyeglasses. This machine will cost $10,000 and is essential to the success of NWLERC. Thank you to all the dedicated Lions in Zones D2 and D5, I am proud to serve another year as your District Director.
