CLERC/Vision Report submitted to 19D Cabinet meeting for Feb 11, 2023 Hello to DG Deb and my fellow cabinet members. Most clubs I know are doing eyeglass collection, but sadly we are not seeing those numbers get reported in MYLION. I just sent 7 boxes in for Sorrento Lions, and 3 boxes from Chase. Micheal Livingston sent in 27 boxes ( 5 boxes from Oliver Lions, 7 boxes from Ok Falls Lions, and 15 boxes from Penticton Lions) There are still 8 clubs that are not reporting their Eyeglasses to CLERC, but 24,181 glasses have been recycled from our District D this year. Fellow Zone Chairs we really need to push reporting on MYLION. Eyeglasses get reported as 1 for 1. For every pair of glasses or lenses sent in, count it as 1 person served. We all know that not all of them can be used, but the intent behind the collection is the hope that every pair can be recycled and be of service to someone else. So last year we adopted a unified reporting system of 1 for 1. I still have some collection boxes, and I am distributing as I travel. I am trying to do a spreadsheet for CLERC of all the collections sites in each town. People often call CLERC and ask where to find a donation box. I am trying to put that together for CLERC. Please email me the locations of your boxes in your town. Keep up the good work everyone, send me your tallies if you have time, but most of all remember MYLION and Report, Report, and Report. ? Thank you. See you all at the meeting. Karen Bassett 19D Cabinet Vision/CLERC Chair
