Zone Chair welcomed all attending and asked each Lion to introduce themselves. Club Reports: ? Armstrong Lions Club - 1 new members - Donations to several charities – Lion’s Quest, Kidney Foundation, Armstrong, Medical equipment LOON cupboard Cancer society, as well as several people were given the gifts at Christmas that were struggling. Bi-monthly bingos continue Enjoyed a club Christmas party and one member celebrated a beautiful joy of welcoming their new baby. Serving the community ? Enderby & District Lions Club - 66 members I new member and the lose of fellow lion Ronald Surry A busy giving club giving to so many in need. Donating to several charities – hospitals, care facilities, food banks, 4H, Santa workshop, theatre, hospice, Christmas families, children gift cards working in conjunction with schools, - Served in the community at Christmas light up serving hot chocolate, served cake to assistant living, hotdogs at Halloween. Children Christmas Auction - Many hours and hard work to achieve so much Lake Country Lions Club: - Two new members - Busy out in the community doing several events, shred it, Cemetery clean up, Halloween BBQ served 800 hotdogs, concession at local Christmas craft fair of drinks and homemade scones, collected 1496 glasses to send to Calgary, light up at cenotaph park BBQ, - Club Christmas Party and auction - Lake Country Serving Lumby Lions Club: 20 members - 2 new members were inducted by 1 st VDG Steve Sweeney -Active Lumby Lions- Santa Anonymous toy run, Halloween Dance, Christmas lunch for seniors, many hours doing Salvation Army Kettle over 4,000 raised for House of Good Hope, served drinks to chamber, - Participated in NO Stone Left Alone, Vision screening in several schools, donated 130 goody bags to a children Christmas event, worked with Whitevale to assist families in need for happier Christmas. - enjoyed a club Christmas party at Blue Ox Lumby Serving ? Vernon Lions Clu - 2 new members Community Service - Providing eye care assistance, Several Lions volunteering monthly in the community feeding the hungry, Red Cross, Keeping the Rail Trail Safe, working hotlines for those in need, Vision screening, clean up camp Winfield, provide lunch for Camp Winfield meeting, bottle collections and eye glass collection pull tabs. - NO Stone Left alone, Wreath laying, Club Fundraising Activities - Poker tournaments, for Lions Park to provide handicap aquatic equipment for the pool - Presented two new dogs for two autistic children, downtown hot chocolate event raised money for T1D children’s diabetes - Two Xmas families were given assistance of gifts and food - Santa Anonymous assisted with financing - Fun Club Christmas party - Vernon Serves 2. How can we help Salmon Arm – please review with your clubs a request to donate $300.00 to the Salmon Arm club for assisting them with equipment for start up, send money to Zone Chair who is a Guiding lion for the club. 3. A presentation and hand outs were given to review with their clubs on assisting with donations towards The food banks refrigerated truck information supplied, contacts for donations are Rod or Deborah Lake Country Lions 4. Newly appointed Easter Seals Representative Lion Michele Materia-Baker, presented a power point on Easter Seals/Camp Winfield providing us with important information and data. The need grows greater and the rewards are endless Leadership - Without leaders we become a social club - Leaders need to encourage new leaders to step up. - Leaders will be what keeps our district and future strong - There are Many areas of training for leadership roles, in person at the convention, on- line at LCI, and MD19, zoom calls third Monday of the month. - Encourage not only new leaders but also help new members become involved. - You are all key leaders. - Ensure all new lions receive orientation training within reasonable time frame. - Please nominate a candidate for Zone Chair and send to Zone Chair Sharon Thank you, Vernon Lions, for a great lunch and snacks, special thanks to Lion Simon and Trudy - Next Zone Meeting in Lumby April 27 more information to follow closer to the date. - Upcoming events - MD19 Convention May 16&17 in Chilliwack - Vernon Golf Tournament May 31 Vernon Golf and Country Club - District 19-I Convention October 3 and 4 Penticton - Vernon Lions Club 80th anniversary Nov 2025 - LCIF QUOTE ON SERVICE “Leadership is about unlocking others potential to become better”
