Cabinet Report Zone I-8 - District I March 15, 2025 Club Memberships Feb 28, 2025 June 30, 2024 Net Change Kettle River 22 23 -1 Okanagan Falls 15 15 Oliver 14 12 +2 Penticton 23 24 -1 At our second Zone meeting in January 2025, a combined in-person/zoom meeting, attended by 3 of the 4 clubs in the Zone, we further discussed our Zone Project for 2024-25 … supporting Camp Winfield. We had the wish list from the fall Camp Winfield Improvement Committee (CWIC) meeting – it was moved/seconded that we donate toward the septic up-date or if it has been completed to use the money for another priority. Each club will donate $250.00 and have the cheques for the CWIC meeting May 4, 2025 (made out to BC Lions Society) and we will also include the $475.00 that is left over from the Kirkham Korner fund. Regarding the establishment of a new Lions club in Grand Forks B.C. not much progress has been made. However, on January 7, 2025, Michael Livingstone, District I GET, and myself held a Zoom meeting with Ian March, treasurer Kettle River lions to discuss next steps. During that meeting we agreed that the 3 of us would be the Lead Team. We also said it might be more realistic to start a branch club. After that meeting, I emailed Ian the TEAMS.pdf about teams that should be set up a part of establishing a new club, or a branch club and the Branch Club Rules from LCI. During Lion Steve Sweeney’s official visit to Kettle River a separate special meeting will be held with Kettle River’s team members to layout a schedule and create a plan for proceeding with this initiative. On February 27th, I introduced Lion Steve Sweeney, FVDG at his official visit to the Penticton Lions club. We will be having our 3rd Zone Meeting of the year on April 13th in Oliver. At that meeting I will be inducting 2 new members into the Oliver club. We will also be promoting our goals: ?Leadership - Leadership will be the thing that keeps our district strong into the future. ?Membership - Our goal is to have each club increase membership by 3 members net. ?Service - Our Zone will always promote service reporting at all levels. ?L.C.I.F. - Will promote giving to the foundation and have a positive message about it’s impact.
