It was 100 years ago, at the 1925 Lions Convention in Cedar Point, Ohio that Helen Keller spoke
these immortal words.
In the spirit of Helen Keller, Lions founded LFCDG in 1983, with the vision to provide Dog
Guides at no cost to people who are blind or visually impaired. The first class in the Canine
Vision Canada program graduated in 1985. Since then, over 500 clients have had their lives
transformed by their Dog Guide. The partnership between Lions Clubs and the Dog Guides is
testament to the Lions' enduring commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities.
