Convention Report

DG Michael and fellow cabinet members

The registration form has gone out with the DG bulletin just this week. Rooms are reserved at the

Ramada Hotel & Conference Centre and we have booked 40 rooms for Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Reservations can be made anytime now and the number is 855-516-1090 and ask for Lions Club.

We have Oliver Lions looking after the table centre pieces, North Kamloops Lions handling Fun Night,

Kamloops Paddlewheelers handling the Raffle and Silent Auction and asking for donations for this. 

Penticton Lions are looking after Registration. We are looking for club(s) that would like to help with

expense of coffee for the Saturday morning, the cost of which is $400.00.

We also need a club to look after the Hand out bags with info etc , on the area that would be handed out

at the registration table.

The expense of this convention is more than $2,000 more than last year’s due to the cost of the rooms

we have to rent which is not included in the cost of the meals. 

To just get close to breaking even we need 150 in attendance, so we hope that everyone, especially are

Zone Chairs will promote this as much as possible. Our conventions have always been full of fellowship,

fun and laughter. So let’s make this 1st Convention for District I a great success. Your convention team is

working very hard to make it so.
