Winter Cabinet - 11 January 2025 Lions Foundation of Canada. In 2024 119 clients were matched with dogs. December 3rd was Giving Tuesday and together, $277,458.00 was raised, we’ve supported seven life-changing Dog Guide teams! On November 29 Minister Anita Anand and MP Pam Damoff were welcomed to the training school to announced that LFCDG will receive a $1.3 million grant from the federal government through the Enabling Accessibility Fund. These funds are specifically designated to support accessibility features in the construction of our new training school, including accessible parking, an accessible EV charging station, as well as traction elevators. The capital campaign is coming along and we are at 80% of our $50 million goal. Construction of LFCDG’s new national training school is progressing on time and remains on track to open in the spring of 2026. With concrete just completed, the commencement of steel work is the next step. After months of working underground, it is exciting to have structural work begin shaping the new school. Now that the end of the year draws closer, the progress this milestone project has made and the work left to do in 2025 becomes clear. Linda Schaffrick PZC
