Convention Chair
District I Cabinet Report – March 15, 2025

The next District I Convention is scheduled for October 2-4, 2025, at the Lakeside Resort and Conference Centre in Penticton BC, where the 2022 MD19 Convention was held.  
The agreement with the hotel provides for the convention starting on Friday, October 3, 2025 with the COG meeting in the morning (a room has been set aside on Thursday, October 2nd for a Pre-COG meeting) and most other sessions being held starting Friday afternoon. Breakout rooms are also available Friday morning for training sessions. Friday evening will be Fun Night based on the convention theme. The convention will wind-up on Saturday evening with the DG’s banquet.

Theme – “Roaring thru the Twenties – increasing leadership, membership, service and support of LCIF”

We have several experienced Lions who have chaired or assisted with other conventions who will make a great team to assist Bob Elliott, Convention Chair.  Bob is recommending Lion Margaret Ashley be the Convention Vice-Chair. 

Attached is a preliminary Convention Task List.  Some of the earlier decisions that will have to be made are:
-How to handle registration, i.e. forms and collection of Registration Fees
-Target date for opening registration – maybe May 14, 2025 ??
