GET report from Michael Livingstone Global Extention Team (GET) District Cabinet Report Fellow Lions, I am pleased to share some exciting updates regarding club development efforts within our District: 1. Salmon Arm New Club Initiative: Lion Sharon Caine, ZC, has been diligently working on establishing a new club in Salmon Arm. She has made significant progress, which is reflected in her ZC report. Sharon is making great strides towards achieving the goal of recruiting 20 Charter Members. Fantastic work, Sharon! 2. Grand Forks Club Recruitment: Lion Ian March, with the Midway Greenwood Kettle River group, has initiated the process of forming a new Lions Club in Grand Forks. The Kettle River Lions are set to begin recruitment efforts as soon as winter roads allow safe travel. If all goes well, we hope to charter two new clubs this spring. 3. Grant Application Process: I began the process of applying for a grant to support new clubs but encountered a hurdle. When the Multiple District (MD) is applying for a grant, individual District applications cannot proceed independently. This grant is currently under review, and funds will be divided among Districts for new club initiatives. I have spoken with Lion Hal Palmer, PCC, who is awaiting final approval for the grants. 4. Training and Presentations: There is a PowerPoint presentation available for club development training. It can be conducted over five days (5 hours online) or condensed into one day (4 hours live). Lions International offers a consultant for informational purposes. We may also consider organizing a presentation using this PowerPoint material. 5. GET Training: I recently attended GET training sessions in Surrey and Toronto, and everything is moving in a positive direction. With continued effort, we are optimistic about chartering two new clubs this year. Let us continue to work together towards these goals and keep up the excellent momentum in expanding our District’s reach and impact. Yours in Service, Michael Livingstone GET
