Hello to my DG, and my fellow Cabinet Members March 5, 2025 I am currently out of country, enjoying family time with my kids and my granddaughter. This is our first family vacation in 20 years, so we are all excited to be together. I hope That the Zone Chairs that are travelling around are still pushing the need to report their Service Projects, including eye glasses Eye glasses get reported as 1 for 1 in a unified system I started in 2019, my first year on Cabinet, and 2018 with my home club. While we know that not every pair can be recycled, It is our hope that they can, and this simplifies the Clubs reporting of their service collections. I still have a few new collection boxes if anyone needs some. Most clubs have 1 dedicated person who looks after the eyeglass collections for their club. Did you know there is a Gordon Prusky Award? If your club would like to honor a Member with long term service and dedication to the eyeglass collection project, then this would be a Great way to do so. It requires a $500.00 donation to CLERC (a very worthy cause) And your club can receive this award dedicated to the recipient. Need more info? Go to Clerc.ca and look up “ Gordon Prusky Award” Eye glass shipments: Many locations can still use Day & Ross as a free carrier. The Kamloops area although can not. If you were previously shipping through the Kamloops area, please now use Bandstra transport. They will deliver to a Day & Ross depot, and therefore get the glasses to CLERC as we always have. I have attached a mock up waybill, as you can go online to either Day & Ross or Bandstra and fill out the waybills online. Print 3 https://www.bandstra.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Bandstra_Bill_of_Lading_Fillable.pdf or https://dayross.com/Forms Remember to send it to L. Fitzherbert ℅ Day & Ross Calgary. I am hoping to log in to the cabinet meeting on the 15th. Internet here is not fabulous but I will try. Hope everyone is having a good spring and it is not too cold there. Look forward to seeing everyone on the 15th. Karen Bassett LERC Canada Chair
