MD19 – District I – Zone 12

Report for District I Cabinet meeting on March 15, 2025

I am finally feeling like I am getting somewhat caught up after being sick

for a few months. Zone 12 had their second Zone meeting on February 22, 2025, in Logan

Lake. Logan Lake Lions hosted the Zone meeting at their community Fire

Hall and provided us with a tasty lunch of a variety of soups and buns and

dessert. The Fire Hall is well equipped with technology that allowed us to

also include Lions virtually if they were unable to attend in person. Please

check out the Logan Lake Lions Leos Facebook page for a video of their

latest Escape Room event with the theme of Alice in Wonderland. The

event was well planned, implemented, and received by the local community. The Logan Lake Leos are an active group of 16 youth with amazing creative

talents. There was representation from four out of the five clubs in Zone 12. The

missing club had meant to be there but had a mix up in dates. They

provided a written report though which I read out to the rest of the group. I am pleased to say that almost all clubs have seen an increase in

membership this year so far, with several new members being inducted at

the end of last year and the beginning of this year. There are more

inductions to come soon! The clubs have been busy with fundraising

projects as well as service projects throughout the winter. It looks like we

will have an even busier spring with BBQ season starting in April and other

fundraising efforts that continue throughout all seasons. The variety of

service projects in the Zone is inspiring and heartwarming. I am completing my first official round of visits to the clubs this month and

our Zone is having its third Zone meeting in May. We will be in Ashcroft

for this next Zone meeting with Ashcroft and District Lions Club hosting us

and providing the technology for us to be able to include those Lions that

are not able to travel to the meeting and participate in person. I have put my name forward for the Zone Chair position for Zone 12 again
