Minutes March 15, 2025 Cabinet meeting, Wenatchee Called to order 2:35 District Governor Chuck Robinson made a welcome to all. Including those attending in person and by Zoom Old Business: PDG Joe Nilles moved, and PDG Debbie Bostock seconded a motion to approve the minutes from January 11, 2025. 2VDG Bob Elliott made a motion to have PDG Joe Nilles and PDG Shelley Costello made administrators of the ALERT South funds in the WA Fed Bank in Leavenworth. PDG Norma Bent seconded the motion. PDG Joe Nilles and PDG Shelley Costello will have the authority to move the funds in any way that they deem appropriate for the needs in our District I of Multiple District 19. Unanimously approved. The $12,500 that was voted on at the August cabinet meeting has been sent to Camp Winfield from our District Youth Exchange Account. Constitution and bylaws: PDG Wanda Eddy made a motion that we recommend the district adopt the LCI Standard District Constitution. ZC Shelley Sweeney seconded the motion. Approved unanimously. PDG Debbie Bostock updated the cabinet on the LCIF matching grant that she has applied for Scotch Creek Fire Hall Volunteer Fire Department has gone to LCIF to be approved at the LCI board meeting in May. $80,000 Canadian has been deposited in the bank from donations. The grant is asking for $50,000 US. New Business: 2025-2026 Cabinet Officers recommended slate: DG Steve Sweeney Peachland Lions Club, 1VDG Bob Elliott Penticton Lions Club, 2VDG Craig Boothe, Lake Chelan Lions Club. IPDG Michael Livingstone made motion to approve this slate, PZC Margaret Ashley seconded the motion. Approved unanimously. Our district will have a table at the MD Convention May 16-17 for the purpose of electing our district officers. VDG Steve Sweeney discussed the full slate of cabinet officers and brought up discussion of possible changes in our 13 zones. LCI recommends no zone be smaller than 4 clubs. (we have two zones with only 3 clubs) DG has suggested holding a fourth cabinet meeting, PDG Debbie Bostock suggested a picnic more personal? Date / location to be determined. Peter pointed out ZC’s only get paid to attend three cabinet meetings but January was held on Zoom, so another cabinet meeting would be the third involving any travel. CCE Steve Brooks is working on a grant to compensate the 2025-2026 GAT team to travel to the MD19 convention in May. ASAP District Convention Penticton Lakeside Inn October 3-4. On Thursday, October 2 a room has been reserved for Council of Governors meeting. Breakout rooms will be available all day Friday and Saturday for panels(sessions). Lion ZC Margaret Ashley will serve as vice chair of the convention. Easter Seals , Providence Funeral have already committed to attending/presenting Community service project walk for Camp Winfield, puzzles / games for senior center For the Good of Lionism.
