Peace Poster Chairmans’ Report The theme for the 2025-2026 Lions year will be “Together as One”. This last Lions year we had 3 clubs submit posters to the District Governor for judging. No entries were received from the Canadian clubs. In coming District Governor Steve Sweeney has suggested recruiting a Canadian Peace Poster representative also. I think this would be a great idea! For over three decades, Lions Clubs around the globe have been sponsoring a very special art contest in schools and youth groups. Creating Peace Posters gives children everywhere the chance to express their visions of peace and inspire the world through art and creativity. For the first time this year you will be able to purchase your peace poster in the digital form and download it instead of having it shipped to you. This will cut the cost by over 50%. The contest kit costs $11.95, but the shipping is usually over $13.00. It should also be much more convenient, but you will also still be able to order the hard copies of the kit. There is also a Peace Essay contest for visually-impaired students. I’m in the process of sending a letter to all the club secretaries in District 19I, encouraging them to participate in the Peace Poster. It will help get their club to interact with the community youth , as well as giving Lions a vehicle for obtaining positive publicity for their clubs. As we all are aware, we need to get more youth involved in our clubs. If you have some free time be sure to go to Lions International web page and search Peace Posters to find the most recent winners. I’m sure you will be as impressed as I was!
