District I Service Chair Cabinet Report – March 15, 2025 13 Clubs with no Service entered; I have emailed each one of them directly offering help over the phone NOT HAPPENING. I have some direct training coming up in the next few days. Maybe this number will change. 5 Leo clubs with no service recorded (I know most of Leo Clubs are not active). I have just reached out to Logan Lake Lions about their Leos as I did find out they are still active but no service is being reported, thank you Debbie Bostock for passing on that info. Now wait and see. I am thankful PDG/ ETC. Joyce for helping with some of the clubs in the US side of our district, my phone bill can’t handle phone calls to the states at $1.00 a minute. If officers were on Whatsapp, then we could call each other through the Internet with no charges at all but this is time consuming dealing with one club at a time. I have created an account with Zoom for small meetings but have not had the time to figure out how it all works. One of these days. Some Clubs are not continuing to enter their activities. I follow the clubs on Facebook, I see what they are up to. Elections are coming up; Zone Chairs need to make sure their clubs get their new officers into the system (properly). After what DG Chuck and myself had to go through to get this information to get into the system this should not happen again, let’s not get caught this time, it was very frustrating for our Clubs. I will monitor the clubs with no Zone Chair and reach out if need be. There have been two sessions with the LCI Focus Group, very positive results are going to start happening. Suggestions are always welcomed, if you don’t say it doesn’t happen. The next release in a few weeks time will have some great changes for Service Activities Reporting. I keep harping on about Reports. I did a test the other day so I could let them know how many clicks it took to create a Data Export report that a Club Secretary would want to present information to their club. It took 31 clicks (they were shocked). I also commented on the fact that we don’t all have Excel on our computer, laptop or especially our phones. I think I finally made my point; they are focused on limiting the number of clicks to do something. 1 | P a g e District I Service Chair Cabinet Report – March 15, 2025 I feel pretty good that this group will do wonders therefore, when 1VDG Steve asked me if I would be willing to continue in the position of Service Chair, I agreed. Once I start something I don’t want to quit in the middle. It helps our district tremendously by having someone that can speak for it and get insider information to pass on. I ask Zone Chairs to please forward what I send to their clubs. Clubs need to be kept informed and presented with ideas. We are in a world of constant changes of the way things used to be done. I am forwarding the information to the clubs with no Zone Chairs. What is happening with training for the next Officers coming in? What about Excellence Awards, any answer yet? Result of our updating our Constitution and Bylaws? Respectfully Lori Kirkham 2 | P a g e
