Cabinet Meeting – January 11, 2025 MD19 Zones I-6 and I-7 – Craig Boothe ZC District Governor and Cabinet members, The first half of our Lions Club year for Lions Clubs in Zones I-6 and I-7 have demonstrated remarkable dedication to our mission. We've witnessed a lot of positive energy and innovative approaches to serving our communities. From impactful service projects to engaging club activities, our members have consistently led by example, inspiring others to join our ranks. This dedication to service has not only strengthened our individual clubs but also contributed to a positive growth in membership in many of our clubs across our two Zones. Our Goals for 2024 and moving forward remain: 1. Raise public awareness of Lions Clubs and their activities 2. Develop new leadership within our Zones and Clubs 3. Work in partnership with other service clubs and/or non members on projects within our communities All 12 clubs within zones I-6 and I-7 have had at least 1 visitation or more in the 1 st half of our 2024-2025 year. In the month of January, the second of 3 zone meetings will be held in Zone I-6 in Moses Lake and I-7 in Wenatchee. The Theme of our meetings will be ““How can we expand our effectiveness both within our clubs and our communities” Membership: The future of Lions Clubs depends on attracting and engaging younger members. Their fresh perspectives, enthusiasm, and technological expertise are vital to sustaining our service and ensuring Lions Clubs remain relevant and impactful in the 21st century. This could include leveraging social media platforms, participating in community events, and encouraging current members to personally (just ask) invite not only retired individuals, but young professionals to join our community of service The Lions Portal: Over the last 6 months of surviving the implementation of a new Lions Club International system, all of our clubs have their officers entered into the portal and are catching on to entering in their service hours in. Only a couple of clubs have not entered service hours at this time. I will continue to encourage their club administrators to log their service hours emphasizing the importance of reporting. Lori Kirkham has been an incredible resource for tackling the various obstacles that have be thrown her way. Without her assistance we wouldn’t be as far as we are now with this new system. Conclusion: While we face obstacles and challenges, I am confident in the resilience and enduring strength of our Lions Clubs members. By collaborating, sharing best practices, and embracing innovative solutions, we can not only overcome these obstacles but also emerge stronger than ever. Craig Boothe ZC I-6 and I-7
