Zone Chair Report to Cabinet – February 2025 Dear Cabinet Members, Since the beginning of January 2025, I have been actively engaged in supporting and strengthening the clubs within my Zone. Here are the key activities undertaken during this period: 1. Club Visitations – I have the privilege of accompanying FVDG Sweeney on his visitations to clubs in our District. These visits provided an opportunity to connect with members, discuss club initiatives, and encourage engagement with district-wide goals. 2. Tri-Club Meeting & Lunch – I am currently organizing a Tri-Club Zone Meeting and Lunch on April 6, 2025, at the Peachland Community Centre Banquet Room. This informal gathering will focus on collaboration, resource-sharing, recruitment strategies, and ways to support each other’s events and initiatives. The goal is to strengthen ties between clubs and improve efficiency in our collective efforts. 3. Ongoing Support & Planning – I continue to work with clubs on their projects, membership growth, and leadership development, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to thrive. 4. Membership Growth – I’m pleased to report that the three clubs in our zone have collectively increased their membership by 10 new members so far this year (2024- 2025). The latest being Westbank Lions inducting 4 new members at their last meeting on Feb 26th. This growth is a testament to the dedication of our clubs in engaging their communities and welcoming new Lions into our organization. I look forward to continuing this work and supporting the clubs in achieving their goals.. All the best, Shelley Sweeney, Zone Chair, District I-9
