Multiple District 411 of Lions Clubs International
Lions Multiple District 411 (MD411) is a part of Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service organization. It serves the Eastern Africa region, including countries like Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, and Seychelles. Formed under the guiding principles of Lions Clubs International, MD411 is committed to fostering humanitarian efforts, promoting community development, and encouraging volunteerism across its member countries.
Mission and Purpose
The mission of Lions Multiple District 411 aligns with that of Lions Clubs International - to empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace, and promote international understanding. MD411 focuses on addressing local challenges such as:
- Health initiatives: Vision and eye care, diabetes awareness, and fighting hunger.
- Environmental conservation and sustainability efforts.
- Youth empowerment through programs such as the Leo Clubs and Lions Quest.
- Disaster relief efforts and community rebuilding.
Structure
Multiple District 411 is divided into three sub-districts, District 411A (Kenya, Ethiopia and The Seychelles), 411B (Uganda) and 411C (Tanzania), each led by a District Governor. These sub-districts operate at the national and regional levels to ensure the smooth functioning of local clubs. MD411 provides a cohesive structure for collaboration across districts, offering leadership development, strategic planning, and resource mobilization.
Key Initiatives
- SightFirst Campaigns: Lions MD411 has been instrumental in providing eye care services, including cataract surgeries, vision screenings, and distribution of eyeglasses.
- Community Service Projects: Ranging from building schools and providing clean water solutions to health camps and environmental clean-ups.
- Youth Engagement: The district’s active Leo Clubs help nurture young leaders through community service, leadership opportunities, and personal growth.
Impact
Lions MD411 has had a profound impact on Eastern Africa through its various service projects. It has built a reputation for addressing critical local needs while promoting the Lions' ethos of “We Serve.”
International Third Vice President
Dr. Manoj Shah of Nairobi, Kenya was elected to serve as Third Vice President of Lions International at the Association's 106th International Convention held in Melbourne, Australia, in June 2024. Vice President Shah is a successful businessman with interests in the Automobile, Property, Hospitality and Finance sectors.
A Charter member of the Nairobi Greater Lions Club since 1988, Vice President Shah has held many offices within the association at Club, District and International levels. He has served as a Constitutional Area Leader of the Global Action Team – Africa and was Chairman of the Africa Lions Steering Committee which led to Africa being recognized as a separate Constitutional Area. He also served as a Trustee of the Lions Clubs International Foundation and is a Campaign 100 Lead Gift Donor and LCIF Humanitarian Partner.
A passionate advocate for leadership development, Vice President Shah has served as faculty at several International Lions Leadership Institutes and facilitated leadership workshops across Africa and Asia. He is a certified LCIP Trainer for Lions International and has led the District Governors Elect seminar as a group leader multiple times.

District 411A
Lions District 411A consists of clubs in Kenya, Seychelles and Ethiopia. We work closely with District 411B -Uganda and 411 C -Tanzania. Collectively we are under Lions Multiple District 411 of Lions Club International, and we meet regularly to discuss areas of common interest.

Dr Moez Manji is the Lions International District 411A District Governor for the 2024-2025 Lionistic Year. District Governor Dr Moez Manji is a lion of long standing and a committed leader. He is a Member of the Lions Club of Nairobi Riverside. His theme for 2024-2025 is 'Roaring for a Better World'
