OKLAHOMA LIONS DISTRICT 3-L GOVERNOR

DAN FARRELL

 

Dan Farrell was named Governor of Southwest Oklahoma Lions District 3-L at the 2016 International Lions Convention in Fukuoka, Japan on June 28, 2016.

Dan is a Past President of the Lawton Noon Lions Club, which he joined in 2008. He was voted “Lion of the Year” twice by his club. He served as the First Vice District Governor for the Southwest Oklahoma Lions District (3-L) in 2015-2016 and Second Vice District Governor in 2014-2015. He served as the District 3-L Lions Quest Chairperson for 3 years. He was named the District 3-L “Lion of the Year” for 2014-2015. Dan attended the Advanced Lions Leadership Institute held in Chicago in 2014, and he received his Bachelor’s degree from Lions University at the USA/Canada Forum in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 2015.

Actively involved in the Southwest Oklahoma community outside of Lions, he is a Red Coat Ambassador for the Lawton-Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce and served on the Membership Committee for four years. He served on the Lawton Public Schools Executive PTA Council for two years. He is going on his 11th year as the Head of the Nursery Department at the Lawton Christian Center. He is a graduate of Leadership Lawton Class XXII and graduated from Leadership Duncan Class XIX. He volunteered as a Loaned Executive Team Leader for the United Way of Southwest Oklahoma for the past 4 years. Dan was awarded the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Service Award by Lawton Public Schools in 2015 for his contributions to the children, youth, and families of the Lawton Fort Sill community through Lions and other organizations.

Dan, who grew up in Englewood, Colorado, retired in 2007 from the United States Army after 24 years of honorable military service and now proudly calls Southwest Oklahoma "home". He works for the American Red Cross as a Volunteer Services Specialist serving Oklahoma for Disaster Relief. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Troy University (Alabama). He lives in Lawton with his wife, Lion Cyndy and three grandsons, Jeremy (Alpha Leo), Anthony and Xavier.
