Mission
To provide motorbike delivery services free-of-charge to NHS facilities out of normal working hours.
Definitions
Delivery services: Moving important supplies (including but not limited to live blood, samples, drugs, equipment, breast-milk and donor organs). These supplies must be transportable by motorbike and cannot require any specialist handling other than freezer boxes.
Free-of-charge: No charge to the NHS. Cornwall Freewheelers is a self-financing voluntary organisation. All operating costs are provided through fund-raising and sponsorship. All workers are volunteers and receive no payment for their participation.
NHS facilities: including but not limited to hospitals, pharmacies, surgeries and medical centres. In special circumstances, we may transport supplies to or from a patient's home address, but the starting or finishing point must be an NHS facility.
Normal working hours: 7am to 5pm. Our operational hours are therefore from 5pm until 7am, and throughout the weekend.
