District Governor Raj Shrestha

Lion Raj Shrestha organized “Hartford County Everest Centennial Lions Club” in 2016. He served as a Charter President for two terms and various other club officer roles. Raj served as a Specialty Clubs chair for 3 terms in the District 23B along with serving as a Zone Chair for 2 terms. He also served as an LCI Specialty Clubs Chair for 3 terms and organized 7 new clubs in different states in the US and in Nepal. He also served as a New Club Development Consultant for LCI for 3 terms. Lion Raj is an LCIF Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow, Ambassador of Sight and has been awarded Certificate of Recognition from Lions International President. Raj is a Lions Certified Guiding Lion and has served as a Guiding Lion for 3 Lions Clubs.

Lion Raj is an MBA (Master of Business Administration) graduate from Tribhuvan University of Nepal, is a graduate of “Regional Lions Leadership Institute” and “Advanced Lions Leadership Institute” of Lions University. He has attended 3 “USA/Canada Lions Leadership Forum” and planning on attending one in September 2024 in Louisville, Kentucky.

Raj has also served in Jaycees. He has served as a Chapter President of Kathmandu Jaycees and National Executive Vice President of Nepal Jaycees. Raj has been conferred “Jaycees International (JCI) Senatorship.” He has also served in Rotary Club in several different roles and is “Paul Harris Fellow (PHF)” of Rotary International. Lion Raj has also served at Nepal Cancer Society as a National Training Coordinator.

Lion Raj has also been serving as a Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of Nepalese Association of Connecticut, USA for almost 5 years.

Lion Raj and Lion Champa have two children/boys (ages 34 and 30). Both boys are members of the Hartford County Everest Centennial Lions Club that Raj organized.
