Dear Lions,

Please find below the latest newsletter from Lions Foundation of Canada. The focus of this month's newsletter is the Pet Valu Virtual Walk for Dog Guides. We know many of our Lions supporters are already registered and raising funds for the walk. Thank you! If you haven't yet made your club's donation to the walk there are a few options for you:
  1. Visit www.walkfordogguides.com and make a donation to a specific walk, team or individual walker
  2.  Register for the walk and participate as an individual or set up a team - set a fundraising goal and make your steps count in our step challenge to walk the length of Canada!
  3. Make a general donation on the website - simply click on DONATE and support the walk online
  4. Send a cheque to Lions Foundation of Canada, 152 Wilson Street, Oakville, ON. L6K 0G6 indicating the funds are in support of the virtual walk
If you have any questions about the walk please contact Walk Manager, Merilyn DeFazio at mdefazio@dogguides.com

As always, thank you for all you do to support Dog Guides!

Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides is proud to provide Dog Guides in seven programs: Canine Vision, Hearing, Service, Seizure Response, Autism Assistance, Diabetic Alert and Facility Support.

To celebrate the special bond between handlers and Dog Guides, the Pet Valu Virtual Walk for Dog Guides' video features teams in different programs while encouraging everyone to join the virtual event and raise funds to help provide more Dog Guide teams across Canada.

Support the Pet Valu Virtual Walk for
Dog Guides in May

You can support the Pet Valu Virtual Walk for Dog Guides in many ways!
  • Register, fundraise and link your fitness device and set your goal. Walk, run, dance, hike an accessible trail or cycle across Canada!
  • Share the walk video with friends, family and co-workers and encourage them to register or donate.
The Pet Valu Virtual Walk for Dog Guides' is a vital fundraiser for the foundation. Any donation, small or large, will help offset the cost of matching a Dog Guide to a Canadian with a disability and providing life-long support to the team.

Walk Mascot contest

There's still time to submit names for the Pet Valu Virtual Walk for Dog Guides' mascot - Contest ends tomorrow!

Get those tails wagging and creative juices flowing and share your name suggestion by email to sgionet@dogguides.com with the subject line of the email "Mascot Name".

Is the name you're suggesting special? if so, please include a line explaining why you chose the name as it will help us narrow down the list. Contest ends on Thursday, April 29th at 3:00pm with the winning name being announced Friday, April 30th. The entrant with the winning name selection will also receive a Garmin Fitness tracker along with bragging rights for picking the mascot's name!
