Lion Leaders are to be endorsed & nominated as D-412 Senior Cabinet Officer portfolio-holders for a two (2) & three (3) & four (4) year time-frame. Yes – the time-frame is correct. Think of the entry of a Lion Leader as the D-412’s 2nd VDG, followed by being the 1st VDG, followed by being the DG, and followed by being the IPDG. Thereafter, many years of “Providing Dependable Guidance” as a PDG.
It's obvious this means careful thought given by a Lions Club when selecting a candidate to endorse & nominate - AND, careful thought given by Lions Club delegates attending an annual convention when casting their "Yes" or "No" votes.
There’s a Deadline – Thursday, 1st October 2015
What is that “careful thought”? What characteristics determine Quality? “Conscientiousness” and “Diligence”? Should there be included “Compassion” and “Willingness to Learn” and a “Keen Listener”? How about a desire to “Recognise & Honour” achievements of others? YES & YES – these are “Qualities” that must be evident in a candidate for any of the portfolios – 2nd VDG & 1st VDG & DG.
In addition, any Lions Club deciding to submit an endorsement & nomination, MUST only do so if the candidate possesses in abundance the below-listed facets:

Integrity
Mentor
Inspires Trust
Proactive
Fiscally Responsible
Innovative
Achievement Focused
Creative

In addition, you will find copies of the D-412 Endorsement / Nomination Forms for DG & 1st VDG & 2nd VDG candidates.
The criteria for a Lions Club to Endorse & Nominate candidates include:
1) Nomination by a majority of club members at a properly constituted club meeting
2) The Lions Club being in “Good Standing” by payment to LCI and D-412 of Dues and any Other Monies owed for the past and for the current period – 1st July to 31st December 2014 – and provide PROOF of payment. Confirmation of payments will be requested from the D-412 Cabinet Treasurer & Assistant Country Treasurers.
