To Extend our Committment to Vision Care, the LLEF established the "Louisiana Lions Cubsight" program. Development of the Cubsight program was started in 1999 when LLEF, working with a few local lions clubs strategically placed throughout the state, created a pilot program.

The Cubsight program officially began July 1, 2001 with the help of a CORE 4 Grant from LCIF. From our modest beginning in 1974 when LLEF treated 85 patients to today, the Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation provides vision and hearing services for over 2000 residents of Louisiana each year that cannot afford this care on their own. We collect over 75,000 pairs of recycled glasses that are sent to underdeveloped countries. Our Children's Vision Screening program "Cubsight" screens thousands of Children looking for eye disease at an early stage.
