Welcome to our Summer Place
On July 9, 1961,the first Camping session opened at our camp which is located North of Leesville. Not only were dreams being realized, but it was also only the beginning of what the Lions would accomplish through this endeavor.

Sessions
Physically Challenged Camp: Two one week sessions are for youngsters with various challenges aged 7-19 who could benefit from such a camp program.
Mentally Challenged Camp: Two one week sessions are offered for youngsters aged 8-19 with mild-moderate mental challenges
Pulmonary Camp: Co-Sponsored by the Lions/LPDCI/Camp Pelican, is for youth with severe asthma and Cystic Fibrosis, ages 6-15
Diabetes Camp: Co Sponsored by the Louisiana Lions League and American Diabetes Association, for youth with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes ages 6-14
All Campers are Lion Sponsored and attend camp at no cost to the family
Transportation is provided by the sponsoring Lions Club except for Diabetes Camp and Pulmonary Camp
All Campers must complete an application and Health History/ Exam before being assigned to a session
To be assigned,all applicants must meet the eligilibity requirements which accompany the application
Activities
The days start and end with flag services and the hours between are packed with activity. A typical week at camp allows youngsters to meet new friends and to experience independence. The schedule fills the dayand the evening with regular camp activities like Swimming, Archery, Gun Safety, Field Sports, Crafts, Metal Detecting, Fishing, and Hiking, and Paddleboating. A whole camp activity takes place each evening.......events like theme dances, campfires, luaus, carnival, Lions Club Sponsored Cookouts,an occasional Band, capture the Flag, and Kangaroo Court.
