District 36-R Zone Chair & Leadership Training
Saturday, August 2nd

*New Location* This District 36-R Zone Chair and Club Leadership Training workshop will be held from 9am to 1pm on Saturday, August 2nd at the Central Electrical Training Center, 33309 OR-99E, Tangent. MAP>> Look for the facility entrance sign right on Hwy 99E. Open to any Lion member, All Zone Chairs and club officers are highly encouraged to attend. Junction City Lions Club Breakfast
Saturday, August 2nd

Jundtion City Lions Club will be hosting their annual breakfast as part of the Coberg Car Classic event on Saturday, August 2nd. This all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast will be served from 7am to 11am at the Coburg I.O.O.F. Hall at 91119 N. Willamette Street in Coburg. Cost is $10 per person.

 

Silverton Lions Club Harvest Breakfast
Saturday & Sunday, August 2nd & 3rd

The Silverton Lions Club 77th Annual Harvest Breakfast will be August 2nd & 3rd form 7am to Noon in the Lions Pavillion at Coolidge-McClaine Park in Silverton. Start your day with a Pancakes, Ham and Eggs breakfast and then check out all the other happenings at the Homer Davenport Days community festival. Or, if you feel like it, tie on an apron and help serve!
 

 

Region 1 Eyeglass Sorting Party
Monday, August 4th

Volunteers are needed to help sort glasses, hearing aids and cell phones at the Keizer Lions Den, 4100 Cherry Avenue, Keizer, at 6pm on Monday, August 4th. Sorting usually takes about an hour. If you are able to join us, your help will be greatly appreciated.

 

Newport Lions Club at NNO
Tuesday, August 5th

New port Lions Club will be participating in National Night Out at the Newport Recreation Center, 225 SE Avery Street in Newport. In addition to collecting used eyeglasses and hearing aids, they will be providing information about Lions and eyeglass assistance for those in need. The event is from 5pm to 8pm.

 

West Salem Lions Club Polk County Fair Concessions
Wednesday thru Saturday, August 6th thru 9th

The West Salem Lions Club will be serving up Sno-Cones, Cotton Candy and Bottled Water at their concession booth at the Polk County Fair from August 6th thru the 9th. Hours are 2pm to 10pm on Wednesday, then 10am to 10pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday. All treats are $2!

 

Philomath Lions Club Food Concessions
Wednesday, August 13th

The Philomath Lions Club will be serving up burgers, hot dogs and good cheer during the Philomath Music in the Park event. Come hungry and ready for a good time! Starting at 6pm, City Park in Philomath.

 

 

East Albany Lions Club Memorial Golf Tournament
August 14th

The East Albany Lions Club annual Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on August 14th at Trysting Tree Golf Course in Corvallis. Sign-Ins start at 7am with a Shotgun start at 8:30am. Central Lions Club Cruise-In
Saturday, August 16th

Central Lions Club will hold their 14th Annual Central Lions Cruise-In and breakfast on Saturday, August 16th from 9am to 2:30pm at Riverview Park in Independence. Gates open at 8am, Show at 9am, Awards at 2:30pm. Breakfast (served 8am-11am) is $10 for visitors and free to entry drivers. Check out the flyer for more details. Yachats Lions Club Pancake Breakfast
Sunday, August 31st

Yachats Lions Club will hold their Labor Day Breakfast on Sunday, August 31st from 7:30am to 11am. It will be held at the Yachats Lions Hall, 344 Fourth Street, Yachats. $10 for an all you can eat menu of Pancakes, Sausage, Ham, Scrambled Eggs, Milk, Oragnge Juise, Coffee and Tea. Proceeds and donations support two yearly $2500 scholarships for Waldport High School.

Bethel Lions Club Chicken BBQ
Friday & Saturday, September 5th & 6th

Bethel Lions Club will be holding their last Chicken BBQ of the year on September 5th and 6th. Half chickens will be available for $10 beginning at 9:30am until sold out. The BBQ is held in the Albertson's parking lot, 4740 Royal Avenue in Eugene.

 

Corvallis Lions Club - Albany Beer “Run”
Saturday, September 6

The Annual .3K Albany Beer "Run" (yup, that's 0.3K) is coming back for 2025. Starting at Calapooia Brewing in Albany Oregon. The beer garden opens at 11:00am, the race starts at noon! Dedicated to the below-average athlete and weekend warrior in all of us, the Albany Beer "Run" features a delicious Calapooia and Deluxe beer before and after and there's even a carb-loading station and other refreshments available.

Advance Registration of $30, covers: Event entry, Albany Beer "Run" commemorative Tee-Shirt (only when pre-registered by August 22), medal, oval sticker for your car, two beer tickets for beer in the beer garden (must be 21 or over of course. Please bring valid ID and cash), refueling station at the halfway point. There will also be great music, food truck on site, pet supply vendors, selfie board for you and your besties This 0.3K is dog-friendly for friendly dogs on leashes! And speaking of dogs, the Corvallis Lions are proud to donate the profits from this year's Albany Beer "Run" to PAL— Prevent a Litter Oregon.

District 36-R Team “Lions Pride”
Veneta Harvest Festival Chili Cook-Off
Saturday, September 13th

Come out to support your District 36-R Chili Cook-Off Team and show the Veneta area what Lions are about! The Chili Cook-Off is part of the Veneta Harvest Festival street fair at 3rd and Broadway streets in downtown Veneta. The festival runs from 10am to 4pm. The cook-off setup begins at 8am with samples available for purchase beginning at 12pm.

 

Newport Lions Club at Newport PRIDE
Saturday, September 20th

Newport Lions Club will be participating in Newport PRIDE on Saturday Septemeber 20th at the Newport Recreation Center, 225 SE Avery Street in Newport. In addition to collecting used eyeglasses and hearing aids, they will be providing information about Lions and eyeglass assistance for those in need, as well as giving away swag.. The event is from 11am to 3pm.

Week 1 – Mental Health & Well-Being
October 4th thru 12th

International President A.P. Singh has introduced three “Weeks of Service” to help make an impact in the causes of mental health and well-being, hunger and environment. These three Weeks of Service are a critical piece of the Club Excellence Awards this year. To qualify for the award this year one of the requirements is that a club must report a minimum of four service activities to Lions International, three of which must be from each of the three International Weeks of Service. For more information check the Weeks of Service page on the International website.
